Students Union

To apply for membership in a Student Union committee, the applicant must:1. The student should have Egyptian nationality (Arab Republic of Egypt).
2. The student should have good morals and a good reputation.
3. The student must be a regular and new member of his squad, not eligible for repeat for any reason.
4. The student should have paid the union fees.

5. The student should have notable activities in the field of work of the committee in which he nominates himself.
6. The student must not have previously been sentenced to a freedom-restricting penalty or whose membership in one of the student unions or their committees has been dropped or suspended.
When the nomination conditions are met, you must follow the following:
1. Apply to the College’s Youth Welfare Department to receive the nomination application and opinion poll form.

2. After completing all the data, you must return it to the Youth Welfare Department at the College, according to the dates announced by the College.
3. The College will review the candidates who meet the conditions and exclude anyone who violates the nomination conditions.
4. The lists are announced with the names of the candidates who meet the conditions.
5. Elections are held and the results are announced on the specified dates.
Nomination conditions:

You have the right to nominate yourself for membership in forming a student union representing your colleagues, and you must be someone who meets these conditions:
1. He holds the nationality of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
2. To be characterized by good morals and a good reputation.
3. You must be a regular student who is new to your group and is not eligible for repeat.
4. You should have paid the tuition fees.

5. To have significant activity in the field of work of the committee for which he nominates himself.
6. You must not have previously been sentenced to a freedom-restricting penalty or disciplinary penalty, or you have not been sentenced to drop or suspend your membership.
According to the executive regulations of the Universities Organization Law, Article 332
It is not permissible to establish organizations or formations on a sectarian, political, or ideological basis within groups or their units.
It is also not permissible to organize any activity of the union councils or committees or in their name on a sectarian, political or ideological basis.

Moot Court:
A moot court is a simulation of a real court in both civil and criminal cases. It is usually presented in a courtroom equipped as a law court. Relevant cases are carefully selected. Students play various judicial roles (judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, etc.) in a gradual manner, in accordance with the practice in ordinary courts.

Faculty of Law Participates in the Christoph Heinz African Human Rights Moot Court Competition

The Faculty of Law, Helwan University, Arabic Department and the English Legal Studies Program participated in the 31st edition of the Christoph Heinz African Human Rights Moot Court Competition at the Faculty of Law, British University in Egypt, from July 25-30, 2022. The Arabic Department team was supervised by Prof. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdellah, Assistant Professor of Criminal Law and Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, while the English Legal Studies Program team was supervised by Prof. Dr. Haitham Saber, a civil law lecturer at the College, honored the participating teams from Helwan University with certificates of appreciation. This represents an added value for the Faculty of Law at Helwan University, as it partners with African and Egyptian universities in all languages. This connects theoretical approaches with practical applications in local and international courts and encourages outstanding students according to the requirements of the labor market.
